The 3 best places to play Golf in Croatia

by Welcome Center Croatia | Last updated Mar 3, 2022 | Published on Mar 3, 2022

Golf – Your greatest hits

Despite only having a few courses with 18 holes at the moment, besides the one in Brijuni National Park and some private courses, Croatia aims to become a significant golf destination. Just relax during a game walking through fields surrounded by its idyllic countryside and enjoy its gentle climate to find out why.

Soon you’ll discover there is much more than meets the eye, they say that most company decisions are made on golf fields but the only decisions you will have to make are which vineyards to visit, where to go shopping, will you go sailing… or just keep playing one more hole!

When is the best time to play golf in Croatia?

Thanks to its Mediterranean climate, you can enjoy a golfing holiday in Croatia all-year round. Enjoy the mild and temperate climate even in the winter months providing the perfect cool environment to play golf without breaking a sweat. We recommend booking your perfect golf holiday in Croatia between October and March. Remember to be careful when golfing in July and August with Croatian summers sometimes reaching past 30°C. Enjoy the sunshine and great weather but try to avoid peak sun hours and do not forget your sunscreen!

Top - 3 best golf courses

Golf & Country Club Zagreb

This Riverside Golf course is in Zagreb, the capital city of Croatia. There are two courses in this club – the Championship course and the Executive course.

Championship course course has 18 holes and a total length of 6415 meters. As many as 11 lakes can be found on this course, which makes it a challenge for every golfer and offers the experienced player to achieve results that he will be eager to remember, as well as a portion of increased adrenaline which he will want to repeat again and again. The course was designed according to strict standards of the PGA (Professional Golf Association) and because of this it can be found on the list of desirable golf courses for many golfers in the world.

Executive course is with 9 holes and the total length of 1558 meters, with three holes PAR 4 and six holes PAR 3, represents a challenge for beginners as well as experienced golf players. Kempinski Golf Club Adriatic

Golf Adriatic is standard golf course with 18 holes, 6360 m long, PAR 72, opened all year round. Brijuni golf course

The Golf course on Brijuni islands was built in 1922 and thus hold a lot of historical significance in the region.

In the peace and quiet of the north-eastern part of the island, there are 18 holes (PAR 71, SSS 71), i.e. it is 5,492 m long (length for ladies: 4,937 m). The golf course is accessible to all players, from recreational players to more experienced ones, as well as to professionals.

The unique atmosphere is definitely what most attracts golfers to the Brijuni course. On this course, you can experience the magic of the game surrounded by intact nature. This eco-friendly golf course is quite impressive to visitors – no pesticides are used, and the grass is not watered, so how green the course is depending on the weather conditions. The Brijuni course can offer everything that a golfer may require from a golf course: game strategy, all kinds of clubs and swings, challenges, and most importantly entertainment and relaxation.
